Part of a loutrophoros-hydria decorated in the black-figure technique. It was found in 1957 in the Sanctuary of the Nymphe in fragments, was pieced together and restored.

On the neck of the vase five bearded men are depicted. The four of them stand in pairs whereas the fifth one turns towards a tree that is next to him. They are all clad in chitons and himatia, three of them hold rods, one holds a sword and the last one a branch. Long ribbons are hanging between the men.

The decoration on the vase’s body is organised in wide bands. On the shoulder a man, possibly Kadmos, runs trying to get away from two dragons that spring from two fountains. Between the vessel’s handles birds are depicted. On a lower band five runners decorate one side, and two panthers, looking at a bird between them, the other.
